We are edging closer to spring training and the beginning of baseball at all levels, yet it still seems to so far away. In the downtime when not a lot is happening, I wanted to share some personal stories of my experiences at Columbus Clippers games. Today’s trip down memory lane is about the first Clippers game I attended.

You can publish almost anything these days. Write a book. Anyone can do it and the best thing is you can write about anything that you know about (non-fiction), or make something up (fiction). How about starting a blog? Go online and type up searches for blogs. You will find blogs for every topic imaginable. From trade business blogs, like sales, law, advertising or customer service fields to novelty blogs, like collecting bottle caps or baseball cards. Best bet, pick something that interests you or that you know about. It will make it that much easier to do. If your blog becomes popular, you will have advertisers willing to pay you to advertise on your blog! More money! Wow!

There is nothing to lament here. Change is part of life. Things we remember from so long ago served a purpose back then, but certainly not now. Our stuff would be useless junk in today’s world. But, that junk still has a purpose in our memory banks when we think of our early days with mom and dad, brothers and sisters, and our friends.
The key to success in the card business is again to theme the cards to an interest that you identified. For instance, the Library of Congress has a great personalized baseball cards from around 1900 online. An enterprising person could use them to make decks of playing cards and market them during baseball season. Lots of folks who like baseball play cards and would be thrilled to have such a unique pack of cards to enjoy while playing their game.
I’m not one of those people that enjoy going to garage sales, but some people really enjoy it. If you’re one of those people keep your eye out for items that you think would sell on eBay or Craigslist. With eBay you can do a search to see if that item has sold recently and for how much. If you don’t know how to do that please let me know and I can do a post on that.
